We have had some changes in the Parish Council.

Sue Lemon, Clerk for 11 Years

Our Clerk of 11 years has left to be Town Clerk for St Just. Sue Lemon will be missed by us all. She has overseen the work of the Council which is no easy task with 19 councillors and 4 members of staff to ‘manage’. She has a great sense of humour and took her many and varied roles in her stride with calmness and humour. Her guidance has been respected by us all and as Jim Wakem, our Chair, reported “she has brought us into the 21st Century and I am proud of our professional nature”.  We wish Sue all the best in her new role and her relocation ‘down the line’.

Pete Bluett, Maintenance Worker for 6 Years

Pete Bluett also retired in July – he was one of our Maintenance Men and has worked with us for 6 years. You may have seen him chugging around on our tractor, keeping our open spaces tidy (amongst other jobs he undertook).  Pete has left us for St Issey and we wish him a very happy and restful retirement (although he has left to be closer to grandchildren so restful may be ambitious).

We have two new members of staff, both of whom are part time: Pete Gadd is taking on the role of Maintenance Officer and will be working on the play equipment in Harrowbarrow (and other play parks across the Parish).  Adrian Endacott will be helping to keep our open spaces tidy by mowing and brandishing a strimmer (Adrian will be with us until the end of October).  Kevin Ninnis will continue with his role as Groundsman and Clare Bullimore will act as Clerk whilst we undergo a staffing review.
