We have received the following update from South West Water on their engineering works:

Calstock STW

  1. Harewood road gravity pipeline replacement – This has been completed and simply needs the connection within the pump station. All work in the flood plain and highway is now complete.
  2. Inlet pump station – Piling works have been completed. Pipex have completed their fabrication work on the chambers and await the issue of internal pipework. Once this is received there is around a month of installation work.
  3. Outfall pump station – As with inlet pump station.

There is an industry wide issue with the procurement of MEICA equipment which means that delivery of the pumps has been delayed, unfortunately this is beyond South West Water’s control and the improved operational use will not be available until the pumps are supplied and fitted.

Gunnislake STW

The team mobilised to site as planned and have taken delivery of materials, works on draining down the storm tank were delayed due to heavy rain, but this has now begun and it is anticipated that the scheme will be completed around Mid-February, providing additional capacity to the storm tank to meet the EA requirements.
