We have had numerous requests for salt bins to be refilled or for additional bins to be installed across the parish.
The bins were checked before the Christmas period and seem to have been depleted very quickly in a short space of time. We have now ordered some more salt and they will be refilled as a matter of urgency.
The bins are provided for communal roads and pavements and should not be used for personal use.
Cornwall Council initially fill the salt bins but any subsequent refills have to be met through the Parish Council’s budget. Therefore, any requests for additional bins have to be assessed and taken forward to our Amenities Committee for their consideration and recommendation to the Full Council. In the last 72 hours we have had requests for 9 additional bins.
Thank you for all your efforts.
Hi I live at Drakewalls Gardens Gunnislake we could really do with a salt bin at the end of our estate as it was an absolute nightmare on New Year’s Eve… Cars were all over the place on the road.
Many Thanks
Mrs S Gatcum
I will try and get one of our workmen to assess it over the next couple of days. I have sent them out on 6 assessments so far!
You are lucky in Gunnislake, we have some estates in Tavistock where we have nothing at all,so causing hard working people having to stay home from work like myself, thank you for updates on the main roads, so helping me earn a living.
Thanks for the prompt response to the concerns raised.
