Application PA20/01905
Proposal Use of land for holiday purposes (small scale camping facility)and retention and
refurbishment of 2 mobile homes.
Location The Copper Pot Campsite Callington Cornwall PL18 8BP
Applicant Mr J Lankester
I am from Harrowbarrow, and I am always concerned about any new developments in and around my village. So I have been following the development of the Copperpot Campsite with interest. I can absolutely say without any hesitation that I fully support what they have already done to improve the land, with Tree planting, and clearing shrub and providing a perfect environment for Birds and wildlife. On my regular walks there I have seen an increase in wildlife, Deer, Foxes, Squirrels and the newly planted indigenous Trees will provide a wonderful habitat for our native birds. Providing a small scale, peaceful and environmentally supportive Campsite, where people can come and learn about our natural environment, bush craft and wildlife in a calm and peaceful way can only enhance the beauty of our lovely area. I also have complete confidence that the mobile homes included in the application will be needed and thoughtfully placed within this site.
Dear Ms Blacher
Thank you for your comment which I have passed on to the council. I will be
publishing the final comment from the council for Cornwall Council planning in
due course.
Kind regards
Sue
I had the pleasure of seeing this site from the very beginning and the truly amazing transformation it has undergone. The site has gone from a overgrown strip of dissused land to a beautiful idlic camping grounds. James has clearly worked tirelessly to achieve this. Howevere even though this site has changed significantly i believe it is closer to nature now with all of the tree, shrub and general planting not too mention the care of existing trees and plants. The grounds will provide a beautiful location for any/all to visit amd i truly believe allowing this to continue is the best thing for the land and the local area.

An excellent small campsite which brings revenue to the local area and businesses, while preserving the wild flora and fauna.

Mr Lakester has devoted many hours of time trying to bring his campsite to fruition. His knowledge of flora and fauna is very impressive and his devotion to both is well above standard.
The proposed site is hidden from view and will disturb no one. I wish him the best of luck!

A lovely site, that has been thoughtfully designed and brought to fruition. Plenty of privacy between the glamping areas, and nicely hidden from view of the road and neighbours. We had a lovely visit, lots of great local walks. James is clearly passionate about what he is doing/creating here. We wouldn’t hesitate to come again.
