We have been in contact with Cormac today who have sent through this statement clarifying the situation:

“Dear All

You may be aware that the above work has now recommenced and is progressing well. Due to the slip in programme following the land agreement delays, we lost our night time road closure booking and had to reapply giving the full three months’ notice.

The intention was to remove the concrete blocks and then drill the lower rows of soil nails during a night-time road closure.  Having reassessed our work methods, we believe that it will be possible to remove the concrete blocks at night using traffic lights and “long delay” warnings, rather than close the road. Then, using different machinery which we now have available, drill the final rows during the day time under the existing traffic management arrangements.

Thank you again for your patience during what has been a complex project, it is very much appreciated. If you have any queries or would like to speak to someone about this, please call us on 0300 1234 222, or email us at contracting@cormacltd.co.uk
