Dear all

Today is election day across Cornwall.  In our Parish there are elections for the Calstock Ward member; our Cornwall Councillor and the Police and Crime Commissioner.

We already know who most of our Parish Councillors will be but there will be two vacancies: one for Chilsworthy and one for Harrowbarrow. We know we will be welcoming Ken Trapp to the Delaware Ward and we look forward to working with him.  We will update you next week with the final results which are due in sometime on Saturday.

I was delighted to see the attendance for our Councillors last year was very high, with many of them attending 100% of Full Council meetings. This shows the commitment the Councillors have for their unpaid role in supporting the Parish.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Neythen Woolford for his time on the Parish Council representing the Delaware Ward and to wish him well in the future.  I also express heartfelt gratitude to Jerome Irons who was a long serving Chilsworthy Councillor.  We wish Jerome the very best for a relaxing retirement away from Council business and I know he will be missed by his Parish Council colleagues.

I have been delighted to be Chairman for the Parish Council – it is an honour and a privilege to serve this community of which I am so proud.

Jim Wakem
