Thank you everyone for your wonderful support for this project. We have now raised nearly £3,500 from 80 supporters.

The project will use sites that are owned by the Parish Council in Albaston & St Ann’s Chapel, Calstock and Gunnislake. We want to engage with people who live in those communities to help us identify which sites we should use and what planting schemes we should have. Depending on the site we are likely to have a range of trees, orchards and hedgerows. The aim is show how community assets can be used  to increase biodiversity and to mitigate climate change.

YOU VIEW IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US. WE ARE NOW LAUNCHING OUR CONSULTATION.

On Wednesday 9 December at 7.00pm there will be an open Zoom meeting for everyone who is interested in the project. This is a chance to contribute your ideas. After an introduction to the project from Parish Councillor Alastair Tinto and a review of the possibilities from Lesley Strong of Forest for Cornwall the meeting will divide into 3 separate groups, one for each area, to discuss which sites in the area we should use and what sort of planting schemes we should have.

To join the Zoom Meeting, use this link:- https://zoom.us/j/95710152004?pwd=d0JXVjYwY1V2YTNiU1JXdzNTbGxlQT09   Meeting ID: 957 1015 2004 Passcode: 760461

There will be breakout rooms for:
– Calstock
– Gunnislake
– Albaston / St Ann’s Chapel

It would be helpful if you could register with the clerk (clerk@calstockparishcouncil.gov.uk) before the event with your name, email & which breakout room you would be interested in participating in.

We have prepared a Presentation (FFC Presentation v6.1) which we attach to this message which sets out our vision, has maps of the sites in the pilot areas and gives some ideas for planting schemes.

We have a Survey Monkey questionnaire which we would like as many people as possible to complete. Please do this even if you can’t come to the meeting. Use this link
