It has been reported that fireworks have been let off in the cemetery at Calstock causing distress and creating litter for nearby residents.

We had no advance warning of this and it was not an event organised or condoned by the Parish Council. We do not believe a cemetery is an appropriate place to set fireworks off.

Please could people be mindful of local residents, animals, pets and small children who are often frightened by fireworks – especially when they are not expecting them.  The law is such that  “you must not set off or throw fireworks (including sparklers) in the street or other public places.”
