Designated Bathing Water Status

The bathing season has started and so we are now regularly observing the number of swimmers and ‘other water and riverbank users’ at Calstock around high tides. Posters have been put up to let the public know about the survey and asking for volunteers to help with the observations over the next 6 months. Simply email  sophie.westwood@calstockparishcouncil.gov.uk  and she will send you the survey brief, rota to sign-up on and support you in becoming part of the team. Alex Polglase is leading the citizen science testing of the water quality with the support of the Westcountry Rivers Trust. The consultation of river stakeholders is next to be set-up. We are really fortunate that Kirsty Davies from Surfers Against Sewage is supporting us throughout all aspects of the process.
