We are now regularly observing the number of swimmers and ‘other water and riverbank users’ at Calstock around high tides – this is to help us submit an application to get a Designated Bathing Water status.  Should this happen, it will mean regular monitoring of our water and pressure to ensure they are clean. We do need some more volunteers to help with a simple survey.

Simply email  sophie.westwood@calstockparishcouncil.gov.uk  and she will send you the survey brief, rota to sign-up on and support you in becoming part of the team.

Alex Polglase is leading the citizen science testing of the water quality with the support of the Westcountry Rivers Trust. The consultation of river stakeholders is next to be set-up. We are really fortunate that Kirsty Davies from Surfers Against Sewage is supporting us throughout all aspects of the process.

Please help us with this important survey – it will help us now and help future generations.
