Calstock Parish Council is seeking to co-opt a new Parish Councillor to represent Delaware Ward.
This is an opportunity to:
– Support your local community
– Influence decisions on local services and facilities
– Help shape the future of the parish
– Work with fellow councillors and the Parish Clerk on local priorities
Eligibility to be a Parish Councillor:
To be eligible for co-option, you must:
– Be 18 years of age or over, and
– Be a British citizen, an eligible Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, and
– Meet at least one of the following:
* Be registered as a local government elector for Calstock Parish, or
* Have lived in Calstock Parish (or within 3 miles of its boundary) for the last 12 months, or
* Have occupied land or premises in Calstock Parish for the last 12 months, or
* Have had your principal or only place of work in Calstock Parish for the last 12 months.
You must not be disqualified under the Local Government Act (e.g., certain bankruptcy restrictions, recent criminal convictions resulting in imprisonment, or being disqualified from holding public office).
