FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS and INTERESTED COMMUNITY MEMBERS, please see message below from  Mick Harrison, Cyber Protect Officer, Devon and Cornwall Police:

Some of you will be aware that in the past I delivered talks to community groups, businesses and local Cllrs about the work of the Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Commissioner and Policing in general down here in the far South West.

Recently I moved onto a new role and I am now one of two DEVON AND CORNWALL POLICE, CYBER PROTECT OFFICERS.

Our role involves my colleague and I talking to businesses, charities and community groups about CYBER SECURITY. Raising general awareness concerning phishing emails, bogus websites and telephone scams etc, and promoting the many preventative measures that are available to individuals and organisations, to help protect them from becoming a victim of CYBER CRIME.

Such community engagement also allows us to listen to communities and better understand their concerns around these ever changing threats.

There is no charge for our attendance or presentation.

If you are aware of any groups in your area they may benefit from one of our presentations please feel free to pass this offer on to them. We are now taking bookings for next year.

To arrange a talk please contact us at – cyberprotect@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk

Alternatively, if you are an individual who is interested, please contact us at the Parish Council.  If there is enough interest we will arrange for a presentation.
