On Sunday 11th November 2018 Calstock Parish remembered those who lost their lives in the two World Wars.  Especially poignant this year, as it marked the Centenary of the end of the First World War, there was an incredible turn out on the day with people marching down from Delaware School and gathering at the Albaston War Memorial .

102 men from Calstock Parish died and it was a humbling experience to remember them: a further 35 died in the Second World War and 1 man also died in the Korean conflict.  A number of organisations laid wreaths to mark the great loss.

A civic reception followed in the Tamar Valley Centre and some very moving pieces of work were displayed from pupils at Delaware Primary Academy.  The Parish Archives also put on an informative exhibition.

Music was provided by Saltash Town Band, The Last Watch and Ronnie Cox which added poignancy to the occasion.

We thank all of those who came and showed their respects and we give gratitude to the 138 men who fought for us.
