Volunteering is someone spending time, unpaid, doing something that aims to benefit the environment or someone who they’re not closely related to. Volunteering must be a choice freely made by each individual.” [National Council for Voluntary Organisatons].

CAN YOU HELP US ACROSS THE PARISH?

We are gathering together as many willing people as possible to help with a number of projects that will improve our wonderful parish.

It’s a lovely place to live and work and we want to do it justice and make it even better than it is at the moment.

If you have some spare time and would like to join our friendly crew, please contact us on 01822 748847 or email us on clerk@calstockparishcouncil.gov.uk

We are looking for people to help us with

  • General grounds work
  • Environmental projects
  • Renovation of building, structures and walls
  • Cemetery upkeep

Our next projects are to clear vegetation in Albaston Cemetery and Gunnislake Car Park. Why not have some fun with friendly and like minded people in the fresh (alright, it may be damp) air?

PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET INVOLVED IN OUR WORK IN ALBASTON CEMETERY AND GUNNISLAKE CAR PARK.

So far we have had people helping us:

  • Make and put up bat and bird boxes
  • Plant and maintain trees
  • Carry out environmental projects in Calstock
  • Rebuild the Playboat at Calstock
  • Improve our moorings

We have some wonderful volunteers all over our Parish from Harrowbarrow luncheon club to Gunnislake Community Matters, Your St Ann’s Chapel, Latchley Community Group, Calstock In Bloom to name but a few.  During Covid we were inundated with offers of help and humbled by the sheer numbers of people who wanted to help. We thank all of you and please let us know if we can support your work in any way.
