My name is Adam Duncan and I work for Land & Water Services Ltd. Land & Water are an approved framework contractor for the Environment Agency. We have been appointed to undertake the Calstock Flood Defence Improvement and Habitat Creation Scheme works for the Environment Agency.
Not only do we work hard to ensure that we undertake our work to a high standard, we also strive to ensure that the way we work is considerate to the environment and local communities. As part of this I wanted to give you early notification of the works. We will commence on 23/09/19 with setting up our site compound in the field west of the football field, this will include our welfare and site offices. The main delivery of heavy machinery is scheduled for 30/09/19 – this will have to be transported down Sands Lane which will unfortunately mean parking restrictions will be required on that day. We aim to bring our equipment in between 10am and 2pm, in order to avoid commuter and school traffic and will aim to minimise any potential disruption. We hope that once large machinery has been delivered, we will not have cause for further restrictions on parking. We would be very grateful if you could make those parishioners likely to be affected by this initial delivery aware and communicating it on your website. We will of course be carrying out a letter drop as well.
Works have started late in the year due to delays in the planning process, we may therefore seek to work some weekends before Christmas (whilst it remains dry) to shorten the duration of the works and ensure that the much needed scheme is in place as soon as possible.
