IF A BIRD IS SEEN IN CALSTOCK VILLAGE WATERFRONT AREA:
• Do not touch the dead bird

IF A DEAD BIRD IS SEEN ON THE WETLANDS (CALSTOCK)
• Leave the bird where it is. Do not touch it.
• Report sightings to DEFRA helpline on 0345 933 5577
It is not practical for DEFRA to collect the bird, as it will cause more damage.

ON PRIVATE LAND
• It is up to the landowner to decide whether or not to dispose of the carcass, depending on the circumstances

DOMESTIC RESIDENCES [ONLY]
For a small number of birds
• If possible, wear disposable protective gloves when picking up or handling dead wild birds
• If gloves are not available, use a plastic bag as a make-shift glove
