Sunday 18 August 2019 Frogwell to Haye Mill and back to Callington

The chosen route offers a shorter walk of 3.5-4 miles OR
a longer walk of 6.5 miles. Both walks begin at 11am at the Doctors’ Surgery car park on Haye Road, Callington (PL17 7AW SX 35564 609707)
There are public toilets opposite Callington Town Hall.
We take the lane to Frogwell, where we pick up the footpath to Pencrebar Farm and the track down to Callington Newbridge.
We follow the river Lynher and cross fields, looping back around to Caddapitt, and take the footpath through the woods for a lunch stop before heading on to Haye Mill where you can see the working water wheel. The shorter walk will take Haye Road which leads directly back to the start. There are four stiles and some ups and downs.
The longer walk will continue through the woods and emerge at Southland Farm, picking up South Hill Road past the new houses being built opposite the fire station, to Bowling Green. Crossing the road and going up Florence Hill we will join the track behind the college, bringing us out eventually near Tesco on Tavistock Road and making our way back to the cars.
Walking shoes or boots recommended. Please bring a packed lunch, snack and something to sit on. Sorry no dogs except for registered assistance ones kept on a lead. £3 will be asked for non-members.
