We are very pleased to announce that Calstock Parish Council have applied to Cornwall Local Action Group for LEADER funding and been successful in securing money to help refurbish the Cemetery Chapel at Albaston.  Calstock Parish Archives have been looking for bigger and better space to enable their service to grow and this venue will provide that space.  It will be wonderful to see a lovely old building be brought back into the public use.  The Archives get many visitors and enquiries every day.  Due to their current small working environment, their work is incumbered by a lack of space in which to house volunteers, visitors and their ever-expanding collection of material.  They are currently housed in the Tamar Valley Centre and their office will no doubt be beneficial to the AONB’s expanding team.  We look forward to seeing the refurbishments start soon.

The funding was secured with great help and assistance from project workers at Cornwall Development Company and we would like to thank them for their guidance.
