I am happy with it all, I think. Except 40mph on Sand Hill. From Liskeard to Callington, the speed limit is 50mph. Can that be extended from Callington to St. Ann’s? It is also 50 from Saltash to Trerulefoot on the A38.
I’m afraid I don’t agree with increasing the speed limit on Sandhill, turning onto the main road from Well Park Road is dangerous enough with the existing speed limit !
The fixed speed camera that is proposed…
Do you remember what happened to the last one?
Set on fire, replaced then cut down with an angle grinder.
It wasn’t put back.
Presumably there is money, in this project, for potential replacement if a local takes exception to being flashed?
Or are we just going to cross our fingers and hope that our area’s gentrification means that sort of person doesn’t live here anymore?
Maybe another couple of ‘refuges’ coming down towards All Saints Park, from Central Motors, would be a cheaper way of slowing traffic?
And difficult to destroy…
The speed limit on Sandhill should not be increased as this is as much a safety issue.
People exceed the speed limit from the bend by the station to the Downend Junction and if you add in the new Co-op one-way entrance-exit arrangement (where cars are sometimes stationary from the eastbound direction) the road has become even more dangerous.
As part of the planning agreement for the new homes, it was agreed that there would be a pedestrian crossing but this has not materialised! Given that the new estate consists of approximately 150 families (potentially a lot of young children) there is no safe facility for children and parents to cross.
As an aside, and relating to the proposal 5, the speed at which traffic enters the Calstock Rd from the A390 is often excessive and the only safe place for school children to cross is at the dropped curb at Highcroft/Amycroft and the dropped curb on the opposite pavement. This is where the majority of parents/children cross the road as this is considerably safer than cross at the top of road (proposal 5).
It’s a pity there were no traffic calming measures considered for the road leading to the Delaware school layby.
A couple of traffic calming ramps would permit safer crossing and naturally slow the traffic down entering from the A390 eastbound.

I agree except for increased speed limit on Sandhill.

Thank you for your comments. It would be very helpful if you could submit them directly to Cornwall Council.
